Case Study · Live Events

At JazzFest, LongFi Connect kept guests connected in the crowd.

50,000 fans a day, getting in, paying, and sharing without the wait.

Big festivals mean big crowds, and that is usually when phones stop working. At the 2026 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, LongFi Connect kept guests connected across the Fair Grounds, so the lines moved, the payments went through, and the day kept its momentum.

The tickets at JazzFest live in an app, so if a guest cannot get data at the gate, they cannot get in the door. In past years the cell service around the gates was so congested that people would stand in line just waiting for their tickets to load. This year, guests on participating carriers picked up the LongFi Connect network as they walked up, their tickets loaded right away, and they moved through the line faster.

The Challenge

When a festival gets packed, phones stop working.

Shoulder to shoulder with the crowd, a phone just will not load. At JazzFest the tickets live in an app, so a phone that cannot connect means a guest who cannot get through the gate.

Tickets will not load at the gate

Guests stand in line waiting for a mobile ticket to load, right at the start of the day.

Payments stall at the lines

Food and drink payments time out when the grounds are packed.

Groups lose each other

Messages and location shares fail, so friends cannot regroup.

The Solution

LongFi Connect improves cell connectivity across the crowd using extra Wi-Fi capacity on site.

Coverage focused on the busiest spots, so phones connect on their own and stay working even when the grounds are packed.

  • Automatic for guests. Phones connect on their own, with no password, no app, and no sign-up. It feels just like cellular.
  • Right where it counts. Coverage focused on the gates, the food and drink lines, and the stage crowds.
  • Built for big crowds. Tuned to hold clear, voice-grade quality even when the grounds are packed.
  • Secure by design. Guest traffic is authenticated and encrypted, and kept separate from the venue's systems.
  • Ready fast. Weatherproof gear that sets up quickly, built for the outdoors.
